The hassle-free Electronic Torque Distribution 4WD system means you've got exactly the right amount of grip you need, wherever you go. In normal driving, it will select 2WD for optimal fuel economy. But if the system detects slippage in the front wheels at any time - such as on a greasy road - it will automatically transfer up to half the available torque to the rear wheels to maximise traction. If driving off-road or in particularly slippery conditions, you can lock Sportage EX into 4WD via a switch on the dash.

The Sportage seatbelts have dual pre-tensioners and load limiters to reduce the risk of injury in a sudden stop.
